Kim Merritt-Butler 4-H Volunteer Leader & Archery Instructor
Kim Butler is relatively new to the world of archery, but she's been around 4-H for many years. Kim is a Maryland 4-H All Star and participated in the Bedford Road 4-H Club
from the age of 8 through the age of 17. Her main projects in her 4-H years were public speaking and commodity marketing. Kim credits many of her current skills and habits to
the wonderful lessons taught through 4-H. Kim is one of the founding leaders of the 4-H Firing Fanatics. She brings her many years of being a 4-H'ers to leading this new club.
Kim is also one of the founding leaders of the 4-H Paws N Pals, a dog and technology specialty club. Kim is certified through the
Maryland 4-H Shooting Sports Instructors Program to teach archery. She will be conducting archery workshops and putting a 4-H archery team together. When Kim isn't spending
her time organizing a 4-H event, or home schooling her two children, she works as an independent consultant in online marketing and e-commerce through

Karen Haines
4-H Volunteer Leader
Karen Haines has been around 4-H and shooting sports most of her life. Karen was a member of the Bedford Road 4-H Club for 10 years. She was a program
assistant of the Kent County Maryland 4-H for 2 years. Karen started shooting a 22 rifle with her father when she was 8 and completed Hunters Safety instruction
at 11 years of age. She participated in the Shooting Sports program at 4-H camp every summer she was 4-H'er in the areas of archery and shooting 22 rifle.
She hunted with her family as a child and teenager. In her adult life, Karen as worked as a ref. at the Hopkins Game Farm in Kennedyville, Maryland. She has
refereed at the US Open Sporting Clay Championship, and the US FIATOS Championship and numerous other sporting clay events. Karen and her husband owned Haines
Firearms Gun Shop on the Eastern Shore and coordinated the Turkey EXPO for 5 years which included the National Wild Turkey Federation Regional Calling Contest.

Jim Butler
4-H Volunteer Leader & Rifle Instructor
Jim Butler was introduced to guns at an early age. He spent his youth hunting and shooting with his family in his hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. Jim got into
muzzleloading in his late teenage years. As his interest grew, he became interested in reinactment activities in the circa 1850's time period. Jim recently
became certified through the Maryland 4-H Shooting Sports Program to teach air rifles and smallbore rifles. He is anxious to attend training in 2010 for
muzzleloading, to introduce that discipline into our club next year. In his working life, Jim is the Manager of Food Service at Mercersburg Academy in
